1993-Present: Fall Line Energy Inc. Denver, Colorado: President/Consulting Engineer
In addition to the normal operations of a small oil & gas company, provides consulting engineering services in the areas of property evaluation, acquisitions screening, project finance, formation evaluation, well testing, prospect screening, expert witness testimony and EOR feasibility.

1991-1994: Conley P. Smith Operating Company Denver, Colorado: Engineering Manager
Responsible for all engineering functions within a small independent oil company. Emphasis on the formation of secondary recovery units and acquisition evaluations. Additional responsibilities included reserves evaluation, company financials, product hedging, debt structure, commission testimony, pressure transient analysis, well completions, waterflood performance, EOR screening, computer support and economic evaluations.

1987-1993: Scott H Stinson, P.E. Denver, Colorado: Consulting Engineer in Petroleum
Part time Consulting Engineering practice. Work performed for clients includes well test analysis, formation evaluation, drainage disputes, completion procedures, pipeline take-or-pay disputes, computer utilization, estate evaluations and reserves determinations.

1988-1991: Pacific Enterprises Oil Company (USA) Denver, Colorado: District Engineer
Engineer and Team Coordinator for most active exploratory driller in the Green River Basin. Work involved prospect evaluation, statistical evaluation of plays, economics, log evaluation, casing point election, completion design and optimization, pressure transient analysis and reserves determination. Expertise in tight gas behavior and stimulation, pressure transient analysis, advanced decline curve analysis and economics.

1986-1988: Chevron USA Inc. Denver, Colorado: Reservoir Engineer
Only reservoir engineer responsible for Chevron’s two largest gas fields and 2 of the 3 largest oil fields in the Northern Region. Also watched Non-Op fields such as Anschutz Ranch. Experienced with well test analysis in retrograde condensate and tight gas reservoirs and DST evaluation on exploratory wells. Additional projects included writing an economic program for gas sales deferral, wettability determination, drainage analysis, compositional modeling, unitization and POD’s.

1984-1986: Chevron USA Inc. Denver, Colorado: Special Studies Engineer
Primary responsibility was implementation of the Rangely CO2 project. Responsible for wellwork, repressurization, water handling system overhaul and economics. Extensive work on economics for $1 Billion project rescoping due to drop in oil prices. Numerous smaller projects included reserves work for Bluebell-Altamont, injection profile improvement, SCADA system enhancements and problem well analysis.

1982-1984: Chevron USA Inc. Rangely, Colorado: Field Production Engineer
Responsible for field engineering work; Problem well evaluation, workover design and workover rig supervision. Responsible for significant improvements in scale inhibitor squeeze design, doubling average squeeze life. Additional work on workovers using foam, field pressure surveys, fiberglass and COROD use and low cost remedial workovers (i.e.: no rig).

Summer 1981: Amerada Hess Corporation Williston, North Dakota: Junior Engineer
Performed engineering evaluations of existing waterfloods, helped design pilotflood, well testing, prospect evaluation and numerous special projects.

Summer 1980: Getty Oil Company Bakersfield, California: Junior Engineer
Work included evaluation of prior drilling practices, recommendations for improvements in drilling and completion methods, drilling proposals on government leases and special projects.

Summer 1979: Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Elkhart, Kansas: Well Test Technician
Half of summer spent as pumper and half as roustabout in Hugoton gas field.

Summer 77-78: Roughneck
Worked as derrickhand and floorhand for numerous drilling contractors in the Powder River Basin, Washakie Basin, Overthrust Belt, Laramie Basin and DJ Basin.
